Quarter sawn walnut veneer, also referred to as rift cut walnut wood veneer or quarter cut American walnut veneer, is typically a lighter pale brown to a deep dark chocolate brown shade. It will accept stains and finishes well but is most often finished with a clear coat that maintains the warmth and compliments the color and beauty of the timber's natural grain.
Standard A grade quarter sawn walnut veneer tends to be even in color and typically allows for some flaws such as occasional pin knots and very slight figure or flashing. It is typically book matched with the grain running along the 8' dimension. Walnut is a hardwood of medium density, really easy to deal with and strong. It is light with a uniform moderately rough texture and medium porous grain.
