By virtue of its appearance, durability and ready workability - being just moderately hard - American black walnut is an excellent cabinet making wood. It glues adequately if conditions are properly managed. It is suited to high-end cabinetwork, and is a timber of choice for gunstocks. The timber is additionally utilized for doors, flooring, joinery, moldings, and turnings.
